A family who once fell to their knees in the darkest hour of their daughter’s brain cancer diagnosis now testifies to God’s faithfulness through a second battle with ovarian cancer—showing how prayer, community, and the transforming power of God bring hope in the hardest places.

Our daughter was just seven years old when we received news that no parent ever wants to hear. At 4:30 in the morning, we rushed her to the ER at the children’s hospital in Knoxville. Within hours, the doctors told us she had a massive brain tumor—and that it was likely malignant. That was the darkest hour of my life. I remember falling to my knees in the middle of the ER, not even knowing what to say or do, except to call our family and cry out for prayer. We needed everyone—every believer we knew—to intercede.
At that time, we didn’t have a close church community of our own. We leaned on the faith of others, and it carried us.
Years later, I received my own diagnosis: ovarian cancer. This time, my first response was prayer. I asked the Lord for strength to face what was ahead and for His glory to shine through it. And immediately, I reached out to my prayer group. That’s the beauty of community—you carry one another through the good, the bad, and everything in between. I knew that as soon as I sent that message, they were on their knees praying for me, asking God for healing, for peace, and for hope.
What I once doubted, I now believe wholeheartedly: prayer changes things. It brings comfort, strength, and a hope that cannot be shaken.
And in a way only God could orchestrate, both of our diagnoses came on the very same date—February 12. Our daughter in 2008, and me in 2025. I believe that was God’s reminder: I had her then, and I have you now. I am faithful. Trust Me, and lean on the community I’ve given you.
Through it all, we’ve seen the transforming power of God—not only in physical healing and provision, but in how He has reshaped our faith, our marriage, and our community. What began as despair has become a testimony of His strength, His presence, and His power to make all things new.

Once driven by money, I met Jesus on I-65. He transformed my life from chasing success to living in faith and sharing His Word.
