Oak Ridge Campus Update

Over the past several months, we’ve been excited to share plans for the future of Two Rivers Church in Oak Ridge. From worship gatherings and community connections to early renovation plans, we have continued to pray and dream about what it could look like to establish a permanent Two Rivers presence in this community.

As we’ve moved further into the planning and construction process, however, we’ve received updated estimates for the demolition and renovation work needed at the Oak Ridge property. Those costs have increased significantly and have caused us to reconsider whether moving forward with this building as originally planned is the best stewardship of the resources Jesus has entrusted to us.

Because of that, we are prayerfully considering the best path forward for this property and how Two Rivers can continue investing in the Oak Ridge community.

While the building plans may be changing, our heart for Oak Ridge has not.

From the beginning, this has been about more than renovating a building. It has been about investing in a community, building relationships, and creating opportunities for people to experience the life-changing presence of Jesus. We remain committed to praying about what that looks like in Oak Ridge, even if it ultimately looks different than we first imagined.

Right now, we’re asking our church family to join us in prayer.

Pray for wisdom and clarity as our leadership considers the best path forward. Pray that Jesus would open the right doors and close the wrong ones. Pray for the property and the decisions surrounding its future. And most importantly, pray for the people and community of Oak Ridge.

We don’t have every answer yet, and we don’t want to rush ahead simply because we had an original plan. We want to faithfully follow where Jesus leads next.
